Peri-incisional botulinum toxin therapy for treatment of intractable head pain after lateral skull base surgery: A case series
Headache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain Sep 10, 2019
Dang S, et al. - Researchers presented the case series of 4 patients who underwent subcutaneous peri-incisional injections of botulinum toxin for intractable headache and head pain syndromes to describe botulinum toxin therapy as a novel treatment of the intractable head pain following lateral skull base surgery. Significant relief of chronic head pain was reported in all these patients; furthermore, these patients returned for additional peri-incisional botulinum toxin injections. Observations support the value of botulinum toxin therapy as a novel treatment option for intractable head pain following lateral skull base surgery and temporoparietal fascial flap harvest.
