Peri-implant conditions and levels of advanced glycation end products among patients with different glycemic control
Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research Jul 03, 2018
Al-Sowygh ZH, et al. - Researchers gauged the clinical and radiographic peri-implant parameters and levels of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) among different glycemic levels in diabetic patients. They also evaluated whether the levels of AGEs correlate with clinical peri-implant parameters. Data demonstrated poor clinical and radiographic peri-implant parameters and in patients with high glycemic levels, the levels of AGEs were significantly high. In diabetic individuals with peri-implantitis, AGEs may be considered as potential marker of inflammation.
