Performance of CT colonography in diagnosis of synchronous colonic lesions in patients with occlusive colorectal cancer
American Journal of Roentgenology Nov 09, 2019
Flor N, Ceretti AP, Luigiano C, et al. - Among 109 people with colorectal cancer (CRC) leading to incomplete colonoscopy who underwent CT colonography (CTC) with IV contrast enhancement following cathartic purgation, fecal tagging, and colon distention, 70 were estimated in order to assess the exactness of CTC in the diagnosis of synchronous colonic lesions in a cohort of people with an occlusive CRC resulting in incomplete colonoscopy. At least one 6-mm or larger synchronous lesion and five synchronous CRCs were seen in 27 of the 70 and four individuals, respectively. For identifying synchronous colonic lesions in patients with occlusive CRC, CTC was discovered as a highly accurate test. Moreover, the predominance of advanced neoplasia is high.
