Hawken S, et al. - This study examined the validity of a gestational age estimation algorithm among recent immigrants to Canada, where maternal landed immigrant status served as a surrogate measure of infant ethnicity. These algorithms could be further refined via the development and validation of region or ethnicity-specific models. The data reassured that an algorithm developed from Ontario-born infant cohorts performed well across a range of ethnicities and maternal countries of origin without modification.
