Calitri C, et al. – This study comprised of the assessment of plasma 1,3-β-D-glucan (BDG) performance in the diagnosis of invasive fungal diseases (IFD) in children. No major variations were found in the analyses of haemato–oncological or newborn patients. The identification of serum BDG did not appear a valuable adjunctive diagnostic tool for IFD in paediatrics.
