Performance assessment of the SAPS II and SOFA scoring systems in Hanta virus Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome

Yu Z, et al. – Authors here formulated and evaluated a new scoring system specifically for Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome (HFRS), named H–SOFA. Findings revealed PLT, PCT, TB, and FOBT as independent predictors of severe HFRS. In this study, simplified acute physiology score II (SAPS II), sepsis–related organ failure assessment (SOFA) tool, and H–SOFA indicated high predictive value for the progression of severe HFRS, with H–SOFA being the highest.
