Perceived benefits of facial rejuvenation beyond restoring youth
JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery Nov 03, 2017
Bater KL, et al. - This work was planned to examine whether face-lift and upper facial rejuvenation surgery improve observer ratings of age, attractiveness, success, and health and to quantify the effect of facial rejuvenation surgery on each individual domain. The gained data demonstrated that the casual observer perceived the patients as younger and more attractive after face-lift and upper facial rejuvenation surgery. In the patient population, these procedures, in addition, improved ratings of perceived success and health. Findings thus suggested that facial rejuvenation surgery offered an even larger societal benefit than merely restoring a youthful appearance to the face.
