Penile prosthesis in solid organ transplant recipients - A matched cohort study
Urology Apr 20, 2018
Sun AY, et al. - Experts ascertained if solid organ transplant (SOT) patients were at higher risk of developing complications following inflatable penile prosthesis (IPP) implantation. Transplants included heart, liver, and kidney, and kidney/pancreas. Findings suggested that in solid organ transplant patients, the outcomes of inflatable penile prosthesis implantation were similar to those of non-transplant patients. Between 2-piece vs 3-piece IPP models, no differences in IPP reoperation rate existed. For penile prosthesis, solid organ transplant patients ought to be considered suitable candidates.
