PD-L1 expression and tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes in high-risk and metastatic cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma
Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery Jul 22, 2018
Amoils M, et al. - Researchers ascertained the programmed death–ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression and tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) positivity for locally aggressive or regionally metastatic cutaneous head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (cHNSCC). Findings highlighted the diffuse expression of PD-L1. This expression demonstrated that treatment for may be achieved with immunotherapy in the form of programmed death 1/PD-L1 blockade. They noted the presence of TILs for 65% of primary tumors and 90% of regional metastases but a correlation with any clinicopathologic variables was not seen.
