Gliklich J, et al. - The motor vehicle fatality rate has recently increased across the Unites States, with distracted driving reported as a possible underlying cause. Texting and driving are prevalent, are linked to a higher risk of motor vehicle crashes, and are more common among younger drivers. Millennials, who are known for their significant cell phone and technology use, are becoming parents; however, there is a dearth of information on parent driving behavior in relation to the risk of motor vehicle crash and the impact of such behavior on children’s subsequent driving habits. Researchers of this study, thus, sought to characterize the texting and driving patterns of millennial vs older parents.
