Patterns of spread and prognostic implications of lung cancer metastasis in an era of driver mutations

Hsu F, et al. – The pattern of metastatic spread in patients with advanced nonsmall– cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and the effect of EGFR mutations, were investigated. Even when adjusted for differences in survival, rates of lung and brain metastases were higher in EGFR mutation carriers. Independent negative prognostic factors for survival were brain, liver, and bone.
