Clinical Otolaryngology Jul 12, 2018
Douglas CM, et al. - Experts evaluated the patterns of admission to hospital in patients with epistaxis (the commonest ear, nose and throat emergency) throughout the UK. Over the past 20 years, a significant decrease in hospital admissions and length of hospital stay was seen in patients admitted with epistaxis. A significant correlation with deprivation and epistaxis admission was observed. For patients in more deprived areas, admission numbers were higher. They noted a significant increase in the surgical intervention of epistaxis.
