Patterns of FIRST recurrence of stage IIIC1 endometrial cancer with no PARAAORTIC nodal assessment
Gynecologic Oncology Oct 07, 2018
Aloisi A, et al. - In patients with FIGO stage IIIC1 endometrial cancer (EC) who did not undergo paraaortic dissection at surgical staging, experts evaluated the rates and distribution of the first recurrence. All stage IIIC1 patients treated at a single institution from May 1993-January 2017 were assessed retrospectively. In stage IIIC1 EC, isolated paraaortic recurrence is uncommon. Findings suggested a link between micro−/macrometastasis with double the recurrence rate vs isolated tumor cells. With these findings, patients with stage IIIC1 EC can be counseled regarding paraaortic assessment. Multivariate analysis suggested an association of histology only with recurrence.
