Osborn VW, et al. - Patterns of care of post-operative chemoradiotherapy (CRT) in patients with locally advanced head and neck cancer with positive margins and/or extracapsular extension (ECE) were determined. It was noted that post-operative CRT with positive margins and/or ECE was underutilized and overutilized without positive margins and/or ECE. CRT was show to be related to improved overall survival; however, the benefit persisted only in the subset with positive margins and/or ECE.
