Tearne E, et al. Â This report reviewed the alcohol consumption data of pregnant and breastfeeding women living in rural Western Australia (WA). Accumulated evidence displayed that there remains a considerable proportion of women who continue to drink during pregnancy. Hence, public health campaigns were required to target women who were older and who smoke. Moreover, women were taking alcohol during the period of lactation, however, the majority doing so at low levels.
