Patterns and predictors of exhaustion episodes in patients with stable COPD: A longitudinal study

Medina-Mirapeix F, et al. - During this research, experts contemplated the tendency for transitions between states of exhaustion and no exhaustion among patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) followed up for 2 years. Additionally, they examined the combinations of potential factors for their abilities to speculate new-onset exhaustion episodes. A greater likelihood of experiencing new-onset exhaustion episodes was noted among subjects in stable COPD with high CAT scores and depression. Therefore, exhaustion could be speculated via a combination of psychological factors and respiratory health status. However, exhaustion appeared to be dynamic in COPD; wherein half of the patients recovered from exhaustion.
