Pattern II and pattern III MS are entities distinct from pattern I MS: Evidence from cerebrospinal fluid analysis
Journal of Neuroinflammation Sep 02, 2017
Jarius S, et al. – Whether or not patients with the pattern I multiple sclerosis (MS) differed from patients with pattern II or III MS with regard to cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) findings, especially with reference to intrathecal IgG synthesis, had been analyzed in this study. A dissimilarity was reported among patients with pattern II or pattern III MS and patients with the pattern I MS. Patients with pattern II or pattern III MS differed from previous, histologically non–classified MS cohorts with regard to both intrathecal IgG synthesis and bloodÂCSF barrier function. The notion that pattern II and pattern III MS were entities distinct from a pattern I MS was supported in this study.
