Patients with inflammatory bowel disease have increased risk of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases

Halling ML, et al. - This study strived to examine whether immune mediated diseases (IMD) were more frequent in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). In patients with IBD, immune mediated diseases were significantly more frequent. The outcomes strengthen the hypothesis that some IMDs and IBD could have overlapping pathogenic pathways.
