Patients taking β-blockers do not require increased doses of epinephrine for anaphylaxis

The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: In Practice Feb 18, 2018

White JL, et al. - β-Blocker use is known to be associated with increased anaphylaxis severity. The association between β-blocker use and requirement for more than 1 dose of epinephrine for anaphylaxis management, was assessed in this retrospective observational study. It was observed that with regard to the need for epinephrine dosing among Emergency Department patients with anaphylaxis, β-Blocker use may not be clinically significant.
