Patient-provider discordance between global assessments of disease activity in rheumatoid arthritis: A comprehensive clinical evaluation
Arthritis Research & Therapy Oct 02, 2017
Challa DN, et al. - Here, researchers performed a comprehensive clinical assessment of patient-provider discordance in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The outcomes give a deeper comprehension of patient-provider discordance than previously known. New insights from this study incorporate the proof that positive discordance is not related to unrecognized joint inflammation by ultrasonography and that depression and fibromyalgia seem to play distinct roles in ascertaining positive discordance. Further work is necessary to develop a comprehensive framework for patient-centered assessment and management of RA and related comorbidities in patients in the scenario of patient-provider discordance.
