Patient experience of telemedicine for headache care during the COVID-19 pandemic: An American Migraine Foundation survey study
Headache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain May 28, 2021
Chiang CC, Singh RH, Lalvani N, et al. - Given the rapid expansion and evolution of the use of telemedicine since the beginning of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, researchers herein described the patient experience of telemedicine for headache care during the COVID-19 pandemic. A standardized electronic questionnaire was designed by the American Migraine Foundation (AMF) to determine the patient experience of telemedicine for headache care between March and September 2020. Among responses to the electronic questionnaire obtained from a total of 1,172 patients, 1,098 were complete responses. Analyses suggest that during the COVID-19 pandemic, telemedicine facilitated headache care for many patients, resulting in high patient satisfaction rates, and a desire to continue to use telemedicine for future headache care among those who completed the online survey.
