Parathyroidectomy decreases neutrophil-to-lymphocyte and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratios

Yang PS, et al. - The changes in neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) after parathyroidectomy were delineated. Findings revealed a decrease in NLR and PLR in association with successful parathyroidectomy. The modulatory effects of parathyroidectomy on systemic inflammation could partially explain the benefits of surgery in secondary hyperparathyroidism.
