Ziegler D, et al. - The prevalence and risk factors of diagnosed and undiagnosed painful and painless distal sensory polyneuropathy (DSPN) were determined in patients with no history of diabetes (ND), and patients with type 1 diabetes (T1D) and type 2 diabetes (T2D). DSPN was detected in approximately one-half of the patients, 62% of whom had pain associated with BMI in T2D.
