Pain remission at one-year follow-up with spinal cord stimulation

Khan H, et al. - In this present study, the researchers explained characteristics and features of patients with pain relief greater than 80% after one year of treatment. A remission rate of 22% with Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) was found at one-year follow with a total of 19.8% of the total patient cohort having a Numeric Pain Rating Scale (NRS) of 0. In Pain Catastrophizing Scale (PCS) and Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), greater decreases correlated with remission. Moreover, pre-operative disability and opioid use associated with the lower likelihood of remission.
