Pain in maintenance hemodialysis patients: A multicenter study

Fleishman TT, et al. - Researchers sought to assess the prevalence, characteristics, intensity, and impact of pain in maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients. They interviewed and evaluated 336 MHD patients from five hemodialysis units in hospitals owned by Clalit in this cross-sectional study conducted between 2013 and 2015. As per findings, MHD patients commonly experience pain. The pain was noted to have a significant association with female gender, comorbidity, dialysis duration and depression.
