PAIC items corresponded well with the clinical experience of the physicians and nurses within the body movement domain. However, items in the facial expressions and vocalizations domains required further study regarding item reduction. Furthermore, differences were shown in the notion of pain characteristics between physicians and nurses, implying the need for more interdisciplinary education on pain in dementia.
