Pain after ortho-plastic reconstruction of lower limb injuries: A snapshot study
Injury Jan 05, 2018
Harries L, et al. - This study was designed to report the incidence of pain after ortho-plastic reconstruction of lower limb injuries at follow-up in the specialist clinic. Researchers, in addition, assessed the impact of the experience of pain upon the quality of life, and the efficacy of analgesia in these cases. Following flap reconstruction for complex lower limb injury, pain seemed a common complication. This pain appeared to have no correlation with time, gender or age, and responded well to simple analgesia in most cases. Findings thus highlight the significance of asking about pain at follow up, and taking simple measures to improve pain outcomes.
