P16 expression and biological behavior of flat vulvar low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesions (LSIL)
International Journal of Gynecologic Pathology Aug 30, 2017
Lewis N, et al. – The objectives of this study are to ascertain the risk of the subsequent vulvar high–grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL) or carcinoma following a diagnosis of vulvar low–grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (LSIL)/vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia (VIN) 1, and also the frequency and predictive value of the p16 immunohistochemical expression in this setting. According to the outcome obtained, it is clear that vulvar LSIL is distinct from LSIL in other lower anogenital sites in terms of its behavior and p16 expression frequency.
