Oxygen therapy in patients with acute myocardial infarction: A systemic review and meta-analysis

Abuzaid A, et al. - A comparative scrutiny was conducted of the outcomes of oxygen therapy vs no oxygen therapy in patients with post-acute myocardial infarction. Compared to the no oxygen group, oxygen therapy group did not report any decrease in the risk of all-cause mortality, recurrent ischemia or myocardial infarction, heart failure and occurrence of arrhythmia events. Based on the yielded data, researchers affirmed the lack of benefit of routine oxygen therapy in patients with acute myocardial infarction with normal oxygen saturation levels.
