Overexpression of chemokine receptor CXCR4 predicts lymph node metastatic risk in patients with melanoma: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Cytokine Sep 02, 2021
Alimohammadi M, Rahimi A, Faramarzi F, et al. - CXCR4 (a member of CXC-type and G protein-coupled receptors) participates in enhancing the progression and metastasis of melanoma.
A meta-analysis was conducted.
PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Google Scholar were explored up to April 2021.
From 13 reports, 656 melanoma patients were included.
Odds ratios (ORs) with its 95% confidence intervals were calculated.
A clear correlation of CXCR4 overexpression was found with ulceration (OR = 0.56), tumor thickness (OR = 0.56) as well as with lymph node metastasis (OR = 8.54).
