Over-expression of BAG-1 in head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCC) is associated with cisplatin-resistance
Journal of Translational Medicine Sep 09, 2017
Liu S, et al. Â In this study, the researcher examined the expression of Bcl-2 associated athanogene-1 (BAG-1) in head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCC). They discovered that the increased expression of BAG-1 was associated with cisplatin resistance and tumor progression in HNSCC patients. Thus, over expression of BAG-1 could be a biomarker for cisplatin resistance in patients with primary or recurrent HNSCCs. Moreover, targeting BAG-1 might be helpful in overcoming cisplatin resistance.
