Outpatient vs inpatient thyroidectomy: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Lee DJ, et al. - A comparative exploration was conducted of the outcomes of outpatient thyroidectomy with those of inpatient thyroidectomy. Based on the results, it was determined that outpatient thyroidectomy could be as safe as inpatient thyroidectomy in appropriately selected patients. Limitation of the results was due to the high risk of bias. In order to further examine the safety of outpatient thyroidectomy, advanced trials were warranted.
