Alkhateeb A, et al. - The purpose of this study was to analyze the outpatient management of uncomplicated acute mastoiditis with parenteral antibiotic therapy alone. Outcomes confirmed that the outpatient medical therapy of uncomplicated pediatric mastoiditis was safe, successful, and efficient. This approach offered efficient use of surgical beds, cost savings and patient and family convenience. For the successful result, careful patient selection and close monitoring were essential.
