International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology Oct 09, 2017

The data shed light on the connection between persistent tympanic membrane (TM) perforation in the study cohort with a history of chronic otitis media with effusion (COME)/Eustachian tube dysfunction (ETD), and multiple prior TT insertions. It was determined that tympanoplasty was successful for repair in a majority of the individuals who underwent surgical intervention. However, residual hearing loss appeared to be common.
