Outcomes of trabeculectomy and glaucoma drainage devices for elevated intraocular pressure after penetrating keratoplasty
Cornea May 25, 2018
Yakin M, et al. - Researchers evaluated and compared the outcomes of trabeculectomy with and without antimetabolites (AMs) and glaucoma drainage devices (GDDs) in the management of elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) after penetrating keratoplasty (PK). As per data, in controlling IOP in eyes that have undergone PK, GDDs are more successful compared to trabeculectomy, but they have low corneal graft survival rates. The limited success of trabeculectomy without an AM was seen. It could be considered in a limited number of patients with a low risk for bleb failure.
