Outcomes of surgical and endoscopic resection of duodenal neuroendocrine tumours (NETs): A systematic review of the literature
Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery Jun 09, 2018
Dasari BVM, et al. - Researchers performed a comparison of the differences in outcomes of endoscopic resection (ER), local resection (LR) and pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) in the management of duodenal neuroendocrine tumors (dNETs) via performing a systematic review. They noted higher post-operative morbidity but with better margin clearance in association with radical surgical resection in the form of PD among patients with dNETs. They suggested performing a systematic evaluation of patients with dNETs with a view to obtain most of the information about the prognostic factors in order to tailor the treatment options.
