Outcomes of stereotactic body radiotherapy vs lobectomy for stage I non-small cell lung cancer: A propensity score matching analysis
BMC Pulmonary Medicine May 28, 2019
Lin Q, et al. - In this retrospective review, researchers compared lobectomy to stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for outcomes in patients with stage I non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). They assessed patient features, treatment-related outcomes and toxicities. For the purpose of enhancing comparability between the two groups, they performed propensity score matching. Comparable treatment-related outcomes were provided by SBRT vs lobectomy. Good tolerability, as well as a very low toxicity profile of SBRT, was evident. In this study, SBRT was suggested to be a promising alternative for treating stage I NSCLC patients.
