Outcomes of reverse shoulder arthroplasty in small- and large-stature patients
Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Jan 17, 2018
Matsuki K, et al. - This study was implemented to compare the outcomes of primary reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) in patients at the extreme ends of the growth curve with those in average-stature patients in the United States. Post-RSA, range of motion (ROM) improvements observed in small- and large-stature patients were inferior to those reported in average-stature patients. Findings indicated that current implants optimize ROM gains for average-stature patients and improve patient-reported outcomes (PROs) independently of patient stature at a minimum 2-year follow-up.
