Rottoli M, et al. - A comparison was performed of long-term survival and perioperative outcomes of patients undergoing pelvic exenteration for advanced (ARC) or recurrent (RRC) rectal cancers in a tertiary center. Findings revealed that irrespective of the tumor involvement of the resection margins, pelvic exenteration for RRC was associated with a significantly worse long-term disease-free survival.
