Outcomes of onabotulinum toxin A treatment for adductor spasmodic dysphonia and laryngeal tremor
JAMA Otolaryngology—Head & Neck Surgery Feb 13, 2018
Patel PN, et al. - The outcomes of onabotulinum toxin A treatment on adductor spasmodic dysphonia (ADSD), ADSD + lateral laryngeal tremor (LT), and lateral LT without ADSD were comparatively evaluated during this study. Data unveiled that the administration of onabotulinum toxin A injections into the thyroarytenoid/lateral cricoarytenoid muscle complex was an effective treatment for ADSD, ADSD+LT, and LT without ADSD. Nonetheless, among patients with ADSD, greatest effectiveness was observed. To prognosticate the effectiveness of onabotulinum toxin A injection among patients presenting with tremor components, defining tremor directionality could prove to be useful.
