Outcomes of epiretinal membrane removal utilizing triamcinolone acetonide visualization and internal limiting membrane forceps
Clinical Ophthalmology Nov 20, 2020
Asahi MG, et al. - Researchers conducted the study for assessing epiretinal membrane (ERM) removal utilizing internal limiting membrane (ILM) forceps and visualization with triamcinolone acetonide (TA). Best-corrected visual acuity, central macular thickness, and incidence of complications have been reviewed. In total, 132 eyes were involved with 54 and 16 eyes completing 3- and 5-year follow-up, respectively. The combination of ILM forceps and TA visualization provides an affordable and safe ERM removal alternative with equivalent or better results than traditional ERM surgery methods. There were no intraoperative complications reported.
