Outcomes of Descemet’s membrane endothelial keratoplasty for congenital hereditary endothelial dystrophy
Journal of AAPOS Dec 02, 2020
Saad A, Ghazzal W, Keaik M, et al. - Researchers conducted the study for reporting outcomes of Descemet’s membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK) in eyes with congenital hereditary endothelial dystrophy (CHED). They retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients with CHED who underwent DMEK. Pre- and postoperative visual acuity, corneal thickness, corneal clarity, and graft survival, have been analyzed, and intra- and postoperative complications have been evaluated. In total, 14 eyes of 8 patients were involved. DMEK was performed with good visual outcome in the study cohort of eyes with CHED. Rebubbling was necessary for donor reattachment in the early postoperative period in some cases.
