Outcomes of conservative management of asymptomatic live donor kidney stones
Urology May 17, 2018
Sarier M, et al. - Authors assessed the long-term outcomes of asymptomatic stones ≤4 mm which were left in situ during renal transplantation (RT). The patients were evaluated with CT imaging at the last follow-up, and the experts compared the results to the initial CT findings obtained during donor evaluation. Findings suggested that it was safe to leave the asymptomatic stones <4 mm, that were detected on donor evaluation, in situ during RT. These stones had high spontaneous passage rates after RT, regardless of their localization in the kidney. Findings suggested considerably low long-term recurrence rates.
