Outcomes of completion lobectomy long after segmentectomy
Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery Jul 03, 2019
Takahashi Y, et al. - In this investigation involving 228 patients, researchers reported and compared the surgical results of patients who had video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) or thoracotomy completion lobectomy long after radical segmentectomy for lung cancer. For this analysis, they retrospectively assessed the surgical outcomes of completion lobectomies performed at the institute long after radical segmentectomies for lung cancer in the same lobe. Long after segmentectomy for lung cancer, VATS completion lobectomy might be conducted without fatal complications unless severe adhesions are noted around each main pulmonary artery.
