Su JA, et al. - This paper reviewed the outcomes of Berlin Heart EXCOR pediatric ventricular assist device support in patients with restrictive and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Collected data displayed that EXCOR successfully supported half of the patients with diastolic heart failure. However, the trends toward higher mortality for younger patients and those receiving biventricular assist device (BiVAD) support required further investigation.
