JAMA Otolaryngology—Head & Neck Surgery Dec 20, 2017
Benninger MS, et al. - A scrutiny was conducted of the outcomes related to coblation for the treatment of bilateral vocal fold immobility (BVFI). As illustrated by the initial outcomes of cordotomy by coblation, this technique was discovered to be a safe and efficient approach for treating BVFI. Coblation exhibited a correlation with the prominent reduction in operating room (OR) time compared with scheduled time. A notable improvement was experienced by the patients in shortness of breath, stridor, and vocal cord function.
