Harper PC, et al. - This study entailed comparison of outcomes between cardiac surgery patients who received either inactive prothrombin complex concentrate (PCC) or recombinant activated factor VII (rFVIIa) during the operation. In this work, a significant association was evident between the use of rFVIIa vs inactive PCCs and renal failure requiring dialysis, increased postoperative bleeding and transfusions.
