Outcomes after balloon pulmonary valvuloplasty for critical pulmonary stenosis and incidence of coronary artery fistulae
The American Journal of Cardiology Mar 30, 2018
Aggarwal V, et al. - Researchers reviewed the outcome after balloon pulmonary valvuloplasty (BPV) for neonates with critical PS at their institution. The occurrence of coronary artery fistulae was detected in a significant number of patients with critical pulmonary stenosis. Those with small tricuspid valves more frequently had coronary artery fistulae. One-third of patients needed reintervention. Reintervention for right ventricular outflow tract obstruction was more likely to be received by those with small pulmonary valve annuli. Significant pulmonary regurgitation was common and could require eventual pulmonary valve replacement.
