Outcome of preterm infants with transient cystic periventricular leukomalacia on serial cranial imaging up to term equivalent age
The Journal of Pediatrics Feb 14, 2018
Sarkar S, et al. - This research was performed to determine the outcome of preterm infants whose cystic periventricular leukomalacia “disappeared” on serial screening cranial imaging studies. An increased risk of adverse outcome was noted among infants with “disappeared” cystic periventricular leukomalacia. This data was found to be similar to that observed in infants with persistent or late cystic periventricular leukomalacia.
