Wormser GP, et al. - In view of the observation that a short course of corticosteroid therapy improves the outcome of idiopathic facial nerve palsy (Bell's palsy), researchers assessed if corticosteroids, in addition to antibiotic therapy, are beneficial, harmful or have no impact on the outcome of facial palsy from Lyme disease (LDFP). They noted frequent prescription of corticosteroids for LDFP, however, the efficacy of this therapy has not been established.
